The Nature Coast Chapter’s October program featured a case study on the saving of the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala. Dr. Charles Dassance, retired president of the College of Central Florida, walked chapter members through the story of legal wrangling, egos and the coming together of the community to preserve this valuable asset.
We’ll carry this theme through to December when our members will partner with the Ocala chapter for a holiday social at the Appleton Museum of Art. The night will feature songs of the holiday season sung by the Marion Civic Chorale along with food from Horse and Hounds Restaurant. The group will also have the opportunity to view the popular permanent art collections along with an upcoming exhibit, A Dickens Christmas: The Urban Family Holiday Collection.
The social will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 5pm. Members can RSVP to Avis Craig by November 29th and pay $8 in advance.
