April Meeting to Feature Discussion on Healthcare PR

Hice-Joe-140x140The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) will hold its monthly luncheon meeting at Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club at 11:30am on Friday, April 5, 2013. The featured speaker is Joe Hice, APR, CPRC, Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing for Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa who will lead a discussion on PR in healthcare.

“Around every corner there are new and unique challenges that healthcare administrators and public relations practitioners must face,” said Katie Mehl, APR, FPRA Nature Coast Chapter president.  “With the Affordable Care Act, new technology and dwindling budgets all top of mind we’re seeing a shift in focus toward wellness and prevention along with the incorporation of social media into our efforts. It’s an exciting time.”

Hice is well known for the “Gator Nation” branding campaign for the University of Florida and his work with NC State University, Harley Davidson, Sea-Doo and Segway. He has served as public relations counsel for Moffit Cancer Center and Research Institute since 2011.
